Daddy's (aka Dave's) Helpers...

The warm weather arrived which meant getting some work done on outside projects.  We opted not to put the landscaping or lawn in last fall, after a busy summer of building the house, moving and having a baby we decided to just slow down a bit and enjoy.  All the other houses on the street have nice landscaping so ours really stood out with just dirt, uneven and rocky at that.  Thanks to Dave's friend, Keith Boerman from Integrity Landscaping we had a plan and trailer full of plants delivered in no time.  Dave dug lots of holes for lots of plants, I was around for moral support and direction, hey somebody had to keep Garrett from eating all the dirt!  We spent a damp Friday spreading all the woodchips and a huge thanks to Bryan Rotman for coming to spread several yards of stone in the backyard.

Of course Jenna had to get in on the action as well.  Most of the time she and her little neighbor friends were just full of dirt but she did help plant one of the trees which was quite cute...
Digging in clay is not all that much fun...

Keith lent Dave a tractor to get the stones to the backyard so not all of it needed to be done with a wheelbarrel, thank goodness!  Garrett LOVED watching the tractor go back and forth and daddy gave him a little ride.
Our garage has been lacking in organization and with all the summer toys out, the bikes, games, wagon, strollers, chairs, etc. have been piling up and getting a little out of control.  It's great to have a neighbor who works for Windquest and gave us some great suggestions for using the ORG system.  Dave built a few shelves and then we utilized the ORG wall and hook system.  It's terrific!  While Dave was doing some cutting Garrett wanted in on the action. It was so cute to watch him crawl up te step and sit right next to Dave.  He did steal the pencil and thought he was pretty funny...

The last project was planting the grass.  Did that Saturday morning and it POURED Saturday night.  Guess we'll have to wait and see how much actually comes up!
